Cave monitoring in the Andes - determining speleothem growth dynamics

High elevation Peruvian cave monitoring project

Caves are "speleothem factories"! Stalagmites from Huagapo and Pacupahuain cave have produced high-resolution paleoclimate records.
We have been monitoring these caves to learn how the monsoon climate signal is transferred to the rock record.
